Early Life and Youth Career

Osorio’s football journey began in Chile, where he showcased his talent from a young age. He was initially part of Santiago Wanderers and Escuela Municipal Hijuelas, honing his skills before getting a significant opportunity. In 2015, he caught the attention of Universidad de Chile during a trial in El Melón. Recommended by Rubén Farfán, a first-team player, Osorio was accepted into the club’s youth academy, setting the foundation for his professional career.

Darío Osorio’s potential was evident from his youth days, and by 2021, he was promoted to the first team. However, his professional breakthrough came in 2022 during the Summer International Tournament in Argentina when he made an immediate impact, scoring a goal against Colo-Colo.

Move to Midtjylland

His rapid progress at Universidad de Chile caught the attention of European scouts. On August 31, 2023, Osorio secured a move to Midtjylland, signing a five-year contract that runs until June 2028. This transfer to the Danish Superliga was a significant step in his career as he finally got his wish to play in Europe.

International Career

Youth Representation

Osorio has been a consistent figure in Chile’s youth teams setup. He represented Chile U-17 and U-20, participating in key tournaments and friendly matches:

  • On December 2021, he played in the Raúl Coloma Rivas Tournament, scoring against Paraguay U-20.
  • On July 2022, he netted twice in a friendly match against Peru U-20.
  • He featured in the Costa Cálida Supercup in September 2022.
  • In 2023, he played four matches in the South American U-20 Championship.

Senior Team Debut

Darío Osorio’s performances at the youth level earned him a call-up to the senior national team. He made his debut for Chile on June 10, 2022, in the Kirin Cup Soccer tournament against Tunisia and has become a key player for La Roja ever since.
